This paper aimed to evaluate the impacts caused by the bullwhip effect in a São Paulo State food supply chain. In order to reach this objective, it used bibliographical research and a case study. The main factors that would cause that effect were analyzed, so that it would be possible to present some proposals seeking to soften the referred phenomenon.Keywords: Bullwhip Effect, Supply Chain, Demand Management, Inventory Management, Competitiveness.References
